Scientology: Child Labour and Exploitation & Family Breakups

Scientology’s latest public relations stunt has drawn criticism, as former members speak out about the organization’s destructive policies. Multiple reports indicate that children are being exploited, denied a proper education, and are being separated from their families by Scientology organizations. Members of the Sydney Church of Scientology swooped upon the Hunter’s Hill Festival last Sunday in a despicable attempt to associate the controversial organisation with a legitimate police initiative focusing on missing persons. The Australia Federal Police (AFP) held Missing Person’s Week to raise awareness of an issue that causes immense heartache to families. The AFP motto reportedly read: “When communication goes missing, so does our youth. Don’t close the door to communication.” However, these public comments are in stark contrast to the official policies of Scientology. In the United States, the Church of Scientology has come under intense criticism for its practice of enforced “disconnection”. Critics claim this cult-like policy tears families apart, as Scientologists are required to cut off all contact with anyone who is considered by the Church to be a “suppressive person”. In a recent report aired by ABC Nightline, the niece of Scientology’s current leader spoke out against Scientology’s destructive and coercive policies. Jenna Miscavige Hill recounted how she rarely saw her parents, who were members of Scientology’s core group known as the Sea Organization (Sea Org). “What we’re told is that they have to work so hard because they’re helping other people. Your family isn’t the most important thing.” At the age of 12 she was pressured into joining the Sea Org, where she was made to work extremely long hours (12 hours a day from the age of 7) for little pay. “I saw my mom probably a half an hour, one time, from when I was twelve ’til I was sixteen. I saw my dad maybe three times, for half an hour each time.” After her parents left the church, Ms Hill was ordered to stop communicating with them, and she was prohibited from answering the phone in case they attempted to call her. Astra Woodcraft similarly was barred from speaking with her father after he left Scientology. She has since left Scientology and has joined Jenna Miscavige Hill and Kendra Wiseman in setting up the website exscientologykids.com to support children who have been harmed by the abusive policies of the Scientology organization. In March 2008, Susan Lentsch issued a press release pleading for the Church of Scientology to allow her to see her daughter, Katherine “Kate” Olson. Olson had repeatedly been denied permission to leave the Scientology facility where she works in Scientology’s Sea Organization. Ms. Lentsch reports “Kate was crying when she was put on the speaker phone to say hello to her grandparents.” Following the release of her statement, the Church allowed a brief meeting between the mother and daughter, in the presence of a Scientology “escort”. In Australia, the Workplace Ombudsman and the Victorian Department of Education are investigating allegations that children as young as thirteen are being used as child labour in Scientology organizations, while being denied a proper education. This investigation was prompted by the testimony of a whistleblower who went to the authorities with evidence of the illegal practice at the Melbourne Church of Scientology. “At the end of the day, Scientology is a business - that operates as a cult — and pretends to be a religion.” said the informant in comments to the media. Former high-level Scientologist Jason Beghe left the organization last year, and has spoken out against the abusive practices in Scientology. “What they do to recruit actors is one thing - what about the little children they get into the Sea Organization? You hear my story, and I got out and I got some sad tales and maybe I got ripped off for a good chunk of money. If you look at that, as compared to someone who joins the Sea Org, it’s not even comparable. A hundred hours probably is what the average Sea Org person works a week and then you get that for 50 years because they get them when they’re teenagers. I mean that’s taking people’s lives away. That’s enslaving somebody’s mind.” In comments to the Australian media, Beghe said “Everybody has a right to believe what they want to believe. But I don’t believe that anybody has a right to trick anybody, to hurt anybody, to harm somebody for their own purposes.”

They are largely concentrated in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan parts of Queens, The Bronx and Brooklyn[1] . More recently the gang has expanded to New Jersey [2] [3] , Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Atlanta. Law enforcement identifies members through the wearing of black, blue, white and red beads [4] - which is problematic given these are also the colors of the flag of the Dominican Republic and numerous other countries. Throughout the group’s relatively short history as a gang they have been involved in numerous violent altercations in New York [5] , New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida. In 2004 several people associated with DDP were arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a River Edge, New Jersey man after the North Hudson Dominican Day Parade in August 2003. They have had an ongoing feud with other area gangs, including the sets affiliated with the United Blood Nation and the Trinitarios, a group comprised also of Dominican youths. [6] . A scuffle between DDP and the Bloods at Pelham Prep High School in the Bronx on March 11, 2005 resulted in the stabbing of two teenage boys.[1] On April 13, 2005 fifteen year old Alex Ramirez, a member of the DDP off-shoot BONZ - or “Beat On Niggaz”, was charged with second-degree murder after witnesses said he slashed 16-year-old Marviel Martinez (rival gang member trinitario) in the neck and then thrust the blade deep in the teen’s back Tuesday morning at the Jerome Ave. station in 183st.[2] There was a recent arrest of three members of the DDP by the FBI. On January 01, 2007, 3 member of the gang DDP were arrested in New York. They were wanted for multiple charges relating to a shooting incident at a restaurant in which the three subjects fired several rounds killing one person and critically injuring three. They were arrested in NY with a .38 caliber hand gun. [7] . There was also a large brawl in Manhattan including Union Square NOTICIAS DESDE MADRID.. “EMILY!!!” I turned around to see Frankie run toward me! I open my arms and he runs into them. Oh my gosh. I missed Frankie. He was just to to cute and so lovable! “Hey Frankster! I missed ya!!” “I missed you too Emily!!! Guess what! Guess what!! I got even more Webkinz! Mom and Dad got me two more to add to my collection!! One’s even a limited Edition you can only find in certain places!” “Sa-weet!! I gotta see them!! They must be awesome! Let’s first eat breakfast… or i mean… lunch?” “okay!” As we walked into the kitchen the smell of pancakes and bacon filled my nose. I laughed when i saw Joe with a stack of pancakes piled high on his plate. “Hungry Joe?” I laughed as he stuffed his mouth. “YES!!” He said with food still in his mouth. “When are you not hungry?” I giggled. “hmmm… I’ll have to get back to you on that.” As he coutinued to stuff pancakes into his mouth. “Would you like some pancakes Emily? They can’t get any fresher!” Mrs. Jonas asked me. “No. It’s okay. I went to iHop with Brittany and Nicole today [Brittany and Nicole are her best girl friends. Nicole, being 16. and Brittany, Nicole's sister who is 19. They are Emily's best girl friends, who she does girl stuff with, stuff she can't so with JB They are coming up later in the story]. But it does smell delicious…. maybe just one piece of bacon.” I smiled. “Of course. Help yourself” Mrs. Jonas said cheerfully. — Let me tell you how I became, as the teen magazines call me… The ‘Jonas sister.’ Mrs. Jonas was practically my second mom. My mom was never home. She was always in another state going to business meetings and other stuff. I’m an only child, and when we moved here I was only 5. Mr. and Mrs. Jonas volunteered to watch me while my mother was away, and I couldn’t go with her. My mother is a lawyer. She works for a major lawfirm, and is a lawyer for many celebrities and big time people. She rolls in the dough, but is never home. All she does is work, she’s a work-a-ohlic, shes been like this ever since my dad died when I was almost 5. That’s another reason why we moved… but let’s not get off topic. I don’t really mind when my mother is gone, because the Jonas Brothers are practically my brothers. It’s kinda funny, cause they are all over protective of me. They all treat me like their baby sister, and i love it. i’ve never had a big family, so when i had to stay with them, i feel safe. But, they will be moving to LA soon. And i was so afraid of losing my second family because then i’ll be missing something inside of me. But on the bright side, my mom said she would take me to LA when she goes down there for work, or fly down there with friends. So i have no reason to fret. I hope. Joe and Annisa, had talked and made up, and they were now watching a movie. Annisa was half asleep, her head resting on Joe’s lap. he was automatically strokin her hair while watching the movie. The movie finished and Joe turned off the tv. He looked down at Annisa and smiled. “Why are you looking at me?” Annisa asked, slightly opening her eyes. “Well, you look kinda cute when you’re sleeping” he said with a small smile. “Sure I am” she said ironically. joe just smiled and glansed at the watch on Annisa’s hand. “I think I have to get home. Being grounded isn’t really my thing” he said. “I’ll walk you out” Annisa said, standing up. They both walked to the frontdoors, Joe opened one of them and stepped out. “So I guess we’ll talk later” he said more like a question. “Of course we will! I’ll call you tomorrow” she said smiling. Joe smiled at her, it seemed like she was coming back. “You know, there’s something I’ve wanted to do since the first time I saw you…” Joe said and stepped closer to her. “Yeah? And what might that be?” she said, her breath becoming a little unsteady by their closeness. Joe took another step, making them standing really close. Almost nose to nose. “This” he moved his head closer and their lips met. Annisa smiled into the kiss, she was jumping of joy on the inside. It felt so amazing to kiss him. She hadn’t realised it with everything going on, but she discovered now that she had feelings for him. After a while, Joe started to pull away, but she held on to him, not wanting the kiss to end. “Anna.. I… Have… To.. Go…” he said between kisses. Then he hugged me, then mom and then dad. “Did you bring all my stuff?” “Almost, there’s just a few things left in your room like your bed, desk and some other stuff” my mom said. “Well i’ve got a bed.. And I probably don’t need those other things. I’ve baught furniture and stuff, I just need the rest of my stuff” he explained. Then he grabbed a huge box, and so did all of us, well not me and Leslie, we both took smaller things. “Follow me, family” he said. It was a really nice building, and when we got into the elivator he pressed the penthouse button. “You live in the penthouse?!” I asked shocked. I knew he had made some money working for dad and grandpa, but I didn’t think he was that rich. “Yupp, gotta impress the ladies in my life” he joked. I rolled my eyes, that’s so him. When we got to the top floor, and the elivator opened into his flat, my jaw dropped. It was an amazing flat! The walls were white, he had huge windows, and all the furniture was so stylish. This was a side I’d never seen in him. “Wow” was all I could say. “Thanks” he said smiling proudly. The rest of the day went by with mom, dad and Chris unloading the car, while me and Leslie were running around the apartment, exploring every little bit of it. “Did you know that you have FOUR bedrooms in this place?” I asked Chris as he came up the last time. “What?! Seriously?!” he joked. “Whatever shall I do?! Maybe I have to sell it again, and buy a smaller place” he said, lowering his head. “No way!” Leslie shouted “You have to keep it, since then when we come visit you, we can sleep in those rooms!!” she said exited. “Oh, I never thought about it” Chris said, smiling down at Leslie “You know, you’re very smart for being a five year old.” “I totally know, some people underrest my smartness” Leslie said, standing proud. I laughed slightly. That kid had so much selfesteem. After eating some quick food at Chris’ place, mom, Leslie and dad left. I was so lucky that I got to stay. Police department helping missing children come home Updated: Aug 11, 2008 04:24 PM Each Carl Junction police car will have pictures of two missing children on it. It is a program called “Picture Them Home”. The program was started by a woman who lost her daughter in 1996. and its purpose is to keep the faces of missing kids in the public. Carl Junction is the first police department in Missouri to take part in the program. The police department says it costs around $120 per car to put on the pictures. “It’s fairly economical program,” says Carl Junction Police Chief Delmar Haase. “It gets kids face out in the news so people don’t forget about them. A lot of the bad news we hear. we file away and try to forget it. Well, I’d like to keep it out there where they see it.” Chief Haase says the Carl Junction Lions Club and the Webb City-Carl Junction Rotary Club sponsored cars to help with the cost. An anonymous donor also helped make the program possible.

(Nick’s point of view) today was the glorious day I got to see Katie again for the first time in three years! Sure I talked to her but she was finally coming home! I’m guessing her parents are gone because she said she’s living alone. So I expect she’s going to be ok now. She told me she talked to Teddy the other day. I smiled to myself when I heard he was living with a nice family. I hope he’s doing ok. I was walking into the airport when my ex girlfriend Jeanette ran over to me. (end of point of view) Jeanette: hi there Nick (she slightly hugged him) Nick: um hi I gotta go (he started walking when she stopped him again) Jeanette: who are you picking up? Nick: someone Jeanette: who is she? Nick: how do you know it’s not Kevin? Jeanette: because Kevin never flies anymore (Nick started getting annoyed so he just walked off) (Katie’s point of view) As I was walking off the plane I heard a familiar little voice so I turned around. There I saw Teddy and the people I’m guessing to be his new family. I smiled to myself watching him play about with the other little kids. I would have liked to go over there and say hello but I knew I just couldn’t. it would break my heart and Teddy’s. I looked for a minute more then started walking towards baggage claim where I saw Nick smiling big, his hands in his pockets. (end of point of view) Katie: Nick! (she rushed over and hugged him) I’m so happy to see you! Nick: me too. It’s been three years too long. Katie: I know. How is everyone? Nick: you mean you haven’t talked to Alysia? Katie: no I’ve only kept in touch with you. Why what happened? Nick: how’s about we get your luggage and got out to dinner we can catch up then. Katie: fine. (they grabbed her bags and headed to Applebee’s ) tell me what happened now Nick Nick: fine (they sat down at a small booth sitting across from each other) Joe proposed to Alysia she said yes they set a date then on the wedding day Joe took off. Nobody has talked to him since not even my parents. Katie: poor Alysia. She really loved him and he just ran off. Nick: but now Alysia’s missing Katie: you mean they might be together? Nick: they might. If they are I hope they’re at least happy. Katie: yea me too. It would be a shame if they were together fighting alone. Nick: yea. So enough about them what about you? New look at JFK assassination

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE THE FOOTAGE AT THE END OF THIS REPORT COMES FROM? It seems to be video footage from the car behind JFK in a motorcade. I have never seen that footage before. Is this from the motorcade in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963 when he was shot? If so, is this all of the footage, or is there more? Is there footage of the assassination itself from this angle, and if so why has it never been shown? Wouldn’t it be helpful to have more than just the Zapruder film on which to base our examination of the assassination? Perhaps there is a simple explanation to this, but it seems bizarre to me. (With Kevin, Kevo’s POV) I ran outside to find it raining great. I decided to run after Shelly, because it would take too long to start the car. So I took of down the sidewalk, about a block away I saw Shelly sitting at inside a bus pick-up terminal. So I ran up and sat down next to her, shielded from the rain. “Shels, how could you think I would ever leave you?” I asked putting my arm around, pulling her in closer. “Kevin, I’m scared.” She whimpered, putting her head on my shoulder. “Well, we can be scared together.” I kissed her forehead, and waited for her to answer. “Yeah, but you have no idea. You can just get up and leave at any moment. Where as I’m stuck with it living inside me. In the end you get off easy.” She looked up at me, through tear stained eyes. “How many times to I have to tell you I’m not going to leave you? Before you realize that I won’t.” I said, wiping away the tears that were falling from her face. “I’m sorry, Kev. I just don’t know if I can do this.” She mumbled, lowering her head. “What do you mean you don’t know if you can do this?” I asked, but she didn’t say anything. Then it hit me. “Wait, you want an abortion?!?” I semi shouted, and she just burst into more tears, nodding her head. “I- I’m s- s- sorry.” She gasped out between sobs. I couldn’t let her do this. Besides there was no way our parents would approve. “No. You can’t. Our parents will kill us, but hey one life for another.” I said coldly, and ran my fingers through my hair. “Kevin, please. I never thought I would be saying this. Especially now that we are out of high school, but what about college? I still have a few years left.” She was crying even harder now. How in the world could she be saying this? Had she officially gone crazy? “Shelly, its going to be hard, but we will have each other. College is no reason to murder our child.” She was shaking uncontrollably by now. Part of me felt sorry for her, part of me wanted to just hold her and make her feel better, but another part of me was madder than heck. “Kevin, you don’t understand do you?” She questioned through tears. “Understand what? Is there something I’m missing? Lets see if I have this straight. You want to kill our child so you can finish college. Nope don’t think I’m missing anything.” I said standing up, and about to head into the rain back to the hotel. When I felt Shelly grab my hand, and pulled me back. “Where are you going? We still have stuff to talk about.” She pleaded, but I didn’t even turn around to look at her. I think tough love was just what she needed right now. “There should be a bus heading downtown. You know where the free clinic is right? Go do whatever you want. But do not think for one second that I am going to stand by and what you kill my child.” With that I pulled away and walked back to the apartments. Letting my tears blend with the rain. OMJ!!! bet none of you saw that one coming… not the baby you wanted to kill huh? so season cliffies are 1. Is Shelly really going to kill the baby? 2. How many kids is Cindy going to have? 3 Are Nick and Kylie really going to do it? so i am going to use these as your questions… what do you think will or should happen! ~peace~out~
